Local Winter Shelter Seeking Volunteers

Elizabethtown Community Housing & Outreach Services is gearing up to open the doors to its emergency winter shelter for the fifth year.

Last year, the shelter saw a 76% increase in beds used. Volunteers play a critical role in overseeing the operations of the shelter. In order to be successful, ECHOS needs 73 volunteers per week.

Individuals interested in volunteering will need to attend one of four trainings offered by ECHOS. The first training will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 15, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Elizabethtown College in Hoover room 1110.
