Elizabethtown Area High School’s annual homecoming weekend is slated for Friday, Sept. 27, and Saturday, Sept. 28. The festivities will begin with ABC 27 doing a live broadcast of their Friday Morning Lights feature from Daubert Gymnasium during the 6 a.m. hour. High school cheerleaders, marching band, and members of the fall sports teams will be on location to pump up school spirit. In addition, the school’s Mini-Thon program, theater department, and esports team will also be present to be recognized for their efforts to bring a positive environment to the school.
Later in the afternoon, the annual EASD Athletic Hall-of-Fame luncheon will be held at the high school beginning at 4:30 p.m. The cost of the lunch is $15, which includes a ticket to the homecoming football game to be played that evening. This year’s inductee is Sarah Fairbanks (Class of 2012). Anyone who would like to purchase tickets to the hall of fame induction ceremony may contact the high school athletic office at 717-367-1521.
On Friday evening, the Bears football team will square off against Solanco High School in a Lancaster-Lebanon League Section 2 showdown. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. Keeping with tradition, the 2019 homecoming queen will be crowned during halftime of the game. Elizabethtown Area High School alumni are encouraged to show their school spirit and share a laugh with former classmates by returning White Family Dental Stadium to cheer on the current Bears.
In addition to a weeklong series of events at the high school, the homecoming dance will be held on Saturday evening at the Bear Creek School from 7-10 p.m.
