The auction begins on Stage 2 at 7 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 23. Local florists have placed arrangements in dated crocks. Also featured at the Annual Auction will be the Premium Book cover painting by Nancy Landis, local artist.

Landis, who designed this year’s cover, serves as the director of the Winters Heritage House Museum and lives in Elizabethtown with her husband, Steve. They keep a small farm where they raise sheep and horses and a few backyard hens. She has enjoyed painting the premium book cover as her way of assisting the fair. In her words: “The Elizabethtown Fair is more than the sum of its parts. It is a community-led exhibition of all that we accomplish in this corner of Lancaster County. This year’s cover is a tribute to all that the fair embraces; from rides and food, to exhibits and opportunities.”

The cover painting will be sold at the fair’s annual auction at 9 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 23.
