The Elizabethtown Area High School Mind & Body students will be holding the 3rd annual “Run for the Health of It 5k” and “1-mile Children’s Fun Run” on Saturday, May 18. The 5k run/walk is a class project where students organize 11 different committees, then collaborate, plan, and organize the event over 13 weeks.
The students have voted on Elizabethtown Area Communities That Care as the race charity. Proceeds from the race will go directly to EACTC for them to continue with their mission of improving the lives of children, youth, and families.
This year’s race will start and finish on the track at the stadium, with the student-designed course taking runners on a 3.1 mile trek of grass, compacted gravel, and pavement. The race will be chip-timed. Runners will receive a T-shirt and race accessory while supplies last and have a chance to win many prizes at the conclusion of the race. Student created awards will also be given to the top 3 finishers in each of the age/gender categories.
Registration forms can be downloaded at: https://mindandbody5kinfo.my-free.website/. Same day registration will take place from 7 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. at the high school tennis courts, but race shirts may be unavailable.
