Elizabethtown Area High School band student Emma Foley recently performed at the prestigious 2019 Pennsylvania Music Educators Association Region 5 Band Festival. The concert was held in early March. Foley (clarinet) joined 144 other talented student musicians representing 69 school districts from central Pennsylvania at the all-star festival.
Dr. Kyle Glaser, associate director of bands for Texas State University, was the guest conductor for the ensemble. The concert was held at Conrad Weiser High School.
Selection to the Region 5 All-Star Band is highly competitive involving talented student musicians from schools located throughoutseventeen central Pennsylvania
counties. A team of judges, comprised of local band directors, selected the students to the prestigious ensemble.
Steven Barraclough, band director for Elizabethtown Area High School, said Foley worked hard to earn a seat in the ensemble.
“Emma worked very hard to achieve this honor. I am very proud of her accomplishments this year,” said Barraclough. “She is an exceptional young musician.”
