Three Bears Compete at Foot Locker Regionals

Sophomore Katie Locker paced three Elizabethtown Bears at the Foot Locker Northeast Regional Cross Country Championship held at Van Cortlandt Park in New York on Saturday, Nov. 25.

Locker was joined by teammates Cat Shontz and Madeline Quinn in a race that featured 103 runners from 11 states and the District of Columbia.

Locker, a 2nd team all-state runner, finished 44th with her time of 19:55.2. Shontz, a junior, was 62nd (20.19.9) and Quinn, a freshman, was 73rd (20:41.1).

Locker was 11th among sophomores and 11th among runners from Pennsylvania. Shontz was 20th among juniors and 16th among runners from Pennsylvania. Quinn was 10th among freshman and 17th among runners from Pennsylvania.

Sophomore Marlee Starliper from Wellsville, York County, won the race with a time of 17:47.5. The top 10 finishers from each of the four regions (Northeast, South, Midwest and West) were eligible to participate in the Foot Locker National Championship at Balboa Park in San Diego on Saturday, Dec. 9.
