Regional Police Hire Two Officers, Honor Retiree for 25 Years

Officer Randy Aument has retired after 25 years on the job with Northwest Regional Police Department. Aument was hired by West Donegal Township Police Department in July 1993; that agency later merged with the Mount Joy Township Police Department to form Northwest Regional.

Officer Aument was responsible for training the department officers in Defensive Tactics, Expandable Baton, and the use of OC (pepper spray). Officer Aument was the 2011 Northwest Regional Police Department Officer of the Year. Chief Mark Maybeery said Officer Aument was true professional and his co-worker will miss working with him.

At its meeting on Tuesday, Feb. 26, the Northwest Lancaster County Regional Police Commission approved the hiring of Officer Brad Redinger and Officer Aaron McCoy. Officer Redinger and Officer McCoy previously worked for Manheim Township Police Department. Officer Redinger is a certified Drug Recognition Expert and a DUI Top Gun Award recipient. Officer Aaron McCoy is a certified Accident Reconstructionist. Both Officer Redinger and Officer McCoy are experienced officers who will be a great addition to the Northwest Regional Police Department, Mayberry said.
