Police Raise Funds for Officer’s Brother With Brain Tumor

In October, co-workers of Northwest Regional Police of Officer Seth Arnold decided to take part in a fund raiser throughout the month of November called “No Shave November” with the proceeds raised for the officer’s brother, Erik Arnold, who was diagnosed earlier this year with a brain tumor.

The officers were required to donate and/or get sponsors to donate for the fundraiser to be permitted to grow a beard, which is normally prohibited by department policy. The financial, physical and emotional impact on Erik Arnold is and has been significant, which made the decision to do the fundraiser an easy decision for the department officers.

Officer Gavin Kline organized the effort with other officers, including the Chief Mark Mayberry, taking part in the “growing effort” by donating money and growing beards. The total amount raised so far has reach almost $1,400.00. Officers were still hoping to get more sponsors up to the last minute of November. The Northwest Regional Police officers as well as all law enforcement have a very close connection with each other due to the daily dangers they experience together and feel the brother of a fellow officer is “family” also.
