Jan Betty, the youth services coordinator at Mount Joy’s Milanof-Schock Library, was among the library employees, trustees and volunteers honored at the annual meeting of the Library System of Lancaster County.
Betty, known as “Miss Jan” to library patrons, got her award presented to her by Barbara J. Basile, the director of the Milanof-Schock Library.
“Delighted children and smiling parents affirm what we all know,” Basile said. “The heart of our library is Miss Jan’s programs which enthrall children and their grownups alike. For over 12 years, she has engaged families by blending children’s literature, music, art, science, math, dance, and her honest love of life to make reading fun and our library a beloved family destination.”
