A man being held in the Lebanon County Prison is accused of robbing an Elizabethtown convenience store as well as similar offenses in Lebanon City and Annville Township, Lebanon County.
Police said Carlos Ruben Clemente-Cantres, 25, robbed the One Stop Market at 550 E. High St., Elizabethown, on the afternoon of Monday, Nov. 20.
Police said he was identified as a potential suspect in the One Stop robbery as well as other robberies in Annville Township and Lebanon City.
Clemente-Cantres was taken into custody by the Lebanon City Police Department on Jan. 15 and is being held in the Lebanon County Prison.
According to a sworn statement by Elizabethtown Police Detective Dustin F. Ryan filed in court, Clemente-Cantres agreed to be interviewed while in custody on Jan. 22. Ryan wrote that Clemente-Cantres waived his Miranda rights and agreed to have the interview video and audio recorded, and that in the interview he confessed to the Nov. 20 robbery in Elizabethtown as well as to two robberies in Annville. Ryan wrote in his sworn statement that Clemente-Cantres said he used a BB gun in the robberies.
A preliminary hearing has not yet been set for Clemente-Cantres in Elizabethtown, court records show.
