Letter to the Editor: Today’s Leaders Can Learn From Constitution’s Framers

letter, LTE

I recently visited Independence Hall in Philadelphia. The park ranger explained how delegates from 13 colonies met to amend the Articles of Confederation but instead wrote our Constitution. There was a large amount of discussion and discourse. Large colonies versus small Colonies. Northern versus Southern colonies. Those that favored a strong, central government versus the statesrights advocates. They compromised and drafted maybe the second greatest document in history.

Our elected representatives in Washington and Harrisburg should be forced to go to Independence Hall and learn how to legislate and compromise for the good of the people of this state and nation.
