The Elizabethtown golf team carded its lowest total of the season, but finished in last place in the regular season finale at Honeybrook Golf Club on Monday, Sept. 18.
The team finished the year with the top four combining to shoot 391, which was one stroke lower than the season-opening match when they shot 392. The team placed fifth in that first match, which was tied for the Bears’ best finish all year.
Freshman Alex Williams (89) led the way and was followed by Logan Hoover (97), Connor Krisko (101) and Eric Gilbert (104).
Over the course of the season, the Bears had a golfer shoot under 100 nine times. Williams was responsible for the highest amount of such performances with three. Hoover, Krisko and Gilbert were tied with two scores under 100.
Williams also posted the lowest average score (100.3) in the regular season. Hoover, the only senior on the team, averaged 101.5 strokes per match.
Williams’ 88 in the season-opening match was the lowest score that a Bear would record in the 2017 regular season.
The team finished the season in sixth with a 8-34 record. Cocalico won the section with a 41-1 record and Elizabethtown bested Ephrata, who owned a 2-40 record.
