Fiery Crash Kills Bainbridge Man

A 38-year-old Bainbridge man has died in a crash near the trash incinerator in Conoy Township.

The Susquehanna Regional Police Department said it happened at 5:40 a.m. on Monday, April 9, near the trash-to-energy incinerator operated by the Lancaster County Solid Waste Management Authority. A tractor-trailer with a 73-year-old driver was going north on River Road while a work van driven by Michael J. Hostetter was going south. The vehicles collided and the van caught fire. Hostetter was pronounced dead at the scene; the truck driver, whose name was not released by police, had a minor injury.

Susquehanna Regional Police Officer Zachary Meador is the investigating officer for this crash. Susquehanna Regional Police are being assisted by the Northwest Crash Team.
