An Elizabethtown man died after a two-vehicle head-on crash with a car driven by a teen with his learner’s permit, state police said. David Pray Jr., 34, died from injuries sustained in the crash, according to the Dauphin County Coroner’s Office.
A 16-year-old Lebanon boy was driving north on Hershey Road/State Route 743 in Conewago Township, Dauphin County, just after 8:30 p.m. on Monday, June 12, when “for an unknown reason” his vehicle entered the oncoming lane of traffic and hit Pray’s vehicle, police said.
The boy had his learner’s permit, police said. His mother, also of Lebanon, was a passenger in his vehicle, police said.
Both were transported to Hershey Medical Center for treatment. They were not identified by police.
Pray was trapped in his vehicle and succumbed to his injuries at the scene after a lengthy extrication, police said.
