EAHS L-L League All-Stars For Golf, Boys Soccer, Cross Country

The fall sports season has officially concluded for Elizabethtown Area High School, and slowly but surely, All-Star selections for the Lancaster-Lebanon League are trickling in.

Golf was the first sport to announce its awards on Thursday, Nov. 1. Sophomore Alex Williams was the lone Bear to be honored, making the first team for Section Two. He finished second in the section in scoring with an 83 average and finished tied for 21st in the league tournament to qualify for districts, the first male Elizabethtown golfer to do so since 2014.

Boys soccer was next to release its selections on Sunday, Nov. 4. Senior twins Chris and Jon Gartley each made the first team in Section Two. They fronted a defense that allowed just 18 goals in 18 games, sixth best in the L-L League.
Fellow senior Evan Schneider was named to the second team, as was sophomore David Fry. Schneider led the Bears in goals with 6, also tying for the lead in assists at 2 with Fry, who added 3 goals. Senior goalkeeper Brecken Musser received an academic All-Star honor as well.

Finally, cross country announced its honors on Monday, Nov. 5, and Elizabethtown took home a number of top prizes. Junior Katie Locker was named the L-L League Girls Runner of the Year, highlighted by her victory at the league championships, and Mark Gallagher won the Section One Girls Coach of the Year award off the back of the team’s undefeated regular season and section title.

Locker also made the first team in Section One alongside senior Cat Shontz and sophomore Madeline Quinn. The trio finished in the top three in some form at every regular season meet. Junior Jesse Myers made the second team in Section One for the boys. Additionally, all five Elizabethtown seniors (Shontz, Jessie Lloyd, Nat McCloud, Brooke Nicodemus and Julee Wells) were recognized as scholar-athletes.

All-Star selections for the remaining fall sports (field hockey, football, girls soccer, girls tennis and girls volleyball) will be announced in the coming weeks.
