Christopher Scharf finished 25 seconds in front of the second-place finisher and won the boys competition with a time of 16:37. Charles Scharf, Nat McCloud and Jesse Myers all finished in the top six to give the Bears four of the top six times.
“They work really hard. The Scharfs in particular, they are our senior leaders. They’ve been working really hard for six years and it’s nice to see it pay off for them,” coach Mark Gallagher told Steve Navaroli, an LNP correspondent.
Katie Locker (20:02) and Madeline Quinn (20:07) finished first and third respectively on the girls side. Cat Shontz finished fifth, but Manheim Township was able to win 28-30.
