Bowling Champion Farwell Gets Recognition

Just before the boys varsity basketball game on Friday, Jan. 5, bowling champion Olivia Farwell got quite a surprise – she was honored with recognition of her national bowling title.

Elizabethtown Area High School bowling coach Frank Telenko noted that the national championship in Nashville began at 7 p.m. one evening and did not finish until 2:30 a.m. the next day.

“Olivia ended up winning the national high school singles championship,” Telenko said, adding, “I think she’s won every single championship that can be won with the exception of a team championship.” Farwell is now in her freshman year at Duquesne University.
