Apple Fest to Benefit Haldeman Mansion

The Haldeman Mansion Apple Fall Festival will be held Sunday, Oct. 7, from noon to 4 p.m. at 230 Locust Grove Road, Bainbridge.

This is an event for all ages. It features a variety of desserts including: apple pie, freshly made apple dumplings, apple crisp, apple cake, caramel apples, and other desserts. Main entries include a hot dog meal wit a hot dog, baked beans, apple sauce and chips. or a Groff ’s bratwurst with same as hot dog meal or choose separately. Other hot foods include chicken corn soup or apple squash soup( vegetarian).

Drinks include Turkey Hill drinks, mulled cider, water or sodas.

This year the festival has basket raffle with many apple items. This is donated by Sandi Bush. Money raised from the raffle and silent auction will go to the Heating Fund.

Activities included are tours, activities for the children (12 and under), Darl Williams with his homemade apple cider and Ryan Bridge (“Ryan The BugMan”) Ryan has been involved with entomology for over 40 years.

The musicians are well known in the area. They are the musicians at the Elizabethtown Church of the Brethren and do concerts for many events.

They call themselves “Sweet November” They include Josh & Elizabeth Tindall and Josh Duma. Visitors are invited to come, get a meal, sit and relax while enjoying, the music, the Susquehanna River and new and old friends. Visistors may want to bring their own lawn chairs.

Cost for entrance is $5 per car. All money raised is used for the preservation of this place of history. Anyone with questions may contact Elaine Jackson at 717-426-3794.
